Peace Breaks Out In The Middle East As US Influence Declines: From OPEC To OPEC+

That’s how short our memories are. It was under President Trump when there were a number of peace agreements between Israel and several Arab states. There is no reason to believe that would not have continued during a second term. But there is something else. The US does not play the World cop anymore. It’s the only superpower capable of global action but since the Soviet Union has gone away they have grown tired of its global hegemony. It’s expensive in life and money. The US does not consider the Middle East as vital anymore so the region will have to duke it out itself. Time for Europe and the Middle East to strengthen ties.
