Solving climate change will have side effects. Get over it

Climate change policies such as those proposed by the extremists in power have side effects. Such as the end of our industrial societies and with it the capacity to feed, clothe, and house current population levels. A fully renewable world economy means that way more than half of the world’s population will have no basis for life anymore. Need it even blunter – more than half of the world’s population will have to be culled with much of the rest living in utter destituteness if we are to seriously enact net-zero policies. Don’t believe me? The world population at the advent of the Industrial Revolution was around 800 million. Double that and we likely have the carrying capacity of the planet without hydrocarbons in the 2000s. That’s much less than half of today’s population. Can we agree that net zero is inhuman?

We need as much renewable energy as we can get, as fast as we can get it. Even if that's painful.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
