Tariff Wars: This is Real High Stakes Poker!

Globalism is a Ponzi scheme, and like every good Ponzi scheme, this one must burst as well. The question is not if but when and how bad the aftermath will be. Ponzis are like snowballs rolling down a hill. As long as they don’t hit anything, everything seems fine, but the ball gets ever bigger, making the impact ever more catastrophic. The longer you wait to prick this bubble, the worse it will get. Considering the already massive bubble we live in, this was bound to produce pain, a lot of pain. It takes more than just balls to do what Trump did. Globalism was dead before he took the presidency. Clinton, Bush, and Obama saw to that. Trump just pricks the bubble and makes the catastrophe smaller. But pain there will be. Will anyone ever know what a service he has done us?

The tariff wars offer us windows into the workings of the global economic system while also offering us windows into the minds of various world leaders. To be truthful, the mind of Donald J. Trump…

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
