The Dirt on Clean Electric Cars

We need to get real on emissions as right now, the entire calculus is horribly lopsided. Yes, me must take into account coal power when the batteries are built or when the vehicle is charging up. But we also must take into account CO2 and methane emissions from hydro-power plants. The IPCC starts to look at those now, but we are at the beginning. Besides, those comparisons have been made with diesel vehicles. How about methane vehicles? How about bio methane vehicles? Yes – in case of Natural Gas it will take the battery vehicle much longer to catch up. If bio methane is used, it never will. Methane is better for the climate than any electric vehicle can hope to be.

Beneath the hoods of millions of the clean electric cars rolling onto the world’s roads in the next few years will be a dirty battery.
