The myth of America’s decline

I live in the center of Europe and I am also close enough to retirement to start planning for it. In a sense, it matters much less to me what’s going to happen in Europe than it matters to my kids. I believe that this crisis is not only far from over, I think it will get a lot worse here in Europe and many other parts of the world. When will the crisis bottom out? Your guess is as good as mine but it will be multiple decades. Enough for me to maybe die before there is realistic light on the horizon. But the US comes back with a roar and many like me who look after the prospects of their children look towards the US. Many will come, and many of those will be good hard working well-educated folks who will push the US even further up.

As China struggles and the EU stagnates, the US continues to thrive – even despite its dreadful leaders.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
