Trump Gives European Leaders an Excuse to Dump Bad Policies

Yes, he does. That said, not all politicians will take it and also even if they take it, execution will still often be lackluster. Europe is in a deep rut and I have strong doubts they can overcome this even with the incentive from DC. I also don’t believe that Europe cannot take this challenge as a block. Problems tend to balloon out of proportion when the frame is widened as the bigger frame provides plenty of excuses for failure and room to hide bad policy. Europe must break up into its nations again so that the good beans can separate from the bad ones, plow a path forward, and show everyone else how it can be done. Those who want to tackle the problem are held back by the rest.
