UK Battery Maker Sees Shares Crash

Where are all the miracle batteries that we were promised all those years? Solid state, miracle materials, none have come to bear fruit. And an alkali metal like Lithium is the best we still have – with all its shortcoming including large, toxic fires with depressing regularity. If only for all their safety flaws those batteries would at least offer good longer-term power. Batteries are important for many things but not for running big machinery. We should not put our research money into making them more powerful – we should rather try to make what we have much safer.
