Voting In Democracies Causes Discord, Increases Strife & Causes Divisions

Voting in mature democracies is broken. The problem is that too many voters have no skin in the game and see it as a “who promises better” game. Or maybe not, maybe they have skin in the game. Maybe the vast majority of voters so much depend on system handouts, freebies, and other goodies that they can but elect those who promise continuity. This dead mass of voters gives power to the fringes. And those extreme fringes then make policy. Voting used to be for those that carried society on their shoulders. Now it’s a free for all. This is not democracy – it’s a popular dictatorship. Democracy can only be usefully exercised by economically free people and those are rare today.
