Wes Amelie will be the world’s first vessel to run on synthetic LNG

Liquefied Synthetic Natural Gas – this is going insane. Who understands those names? Years ago I was crazy and proposed a new nomenclature for all those fuels. What is it? Synthetic or Natural. Two opposing words in the same name. All methane-based fuels should be called so. L for Liquefied, C for compressed. F for fossil, B for bio and S for synthetic and finally M for Methane. Following this, we deal with LSM or Liquefied Synthetic Methane here. Add a front number for purity and a back number for mixing rations in case of melanges and we always know what we are dealing with. Its time we cleaned up this mess.
