National Grid to use trucked LNG, CNG in U.S. amid gas supply constraints

I just published an article today that cuts into this problem. I should love those politicians and protesters. They prevent pipelines from happening and then new logistical scenarios for LNG mushroom. What’s not to love. OK, let clear one thing right away. I am a big supporter of pipelines. They are an awesome, safe, economical and mature way to bring energy almost anywhere. Especially so for distribution. But when you can’t have a pipeline, when you need to store gas for rapid peak-shaving, when you need to fuel vehicles and appliances, LNG by truck and rail comes in. And if rail is used in a proper way, it can compete with pipelines in terms of cost and volumes even. Not always, but sometimes.
