It’s hard to predict such things with certainty. When Iceland was left in the cold in 2008 one could have predicted that the pain caused by the financial disaster would cleanse the system but it also brought left-leaning and virtue-signaling parties to power. One could have thought that the Icelanders would have no more appetite for BS. It’s not unreasonable to assume that more of what hurts you will lead to its demise and I think that will eventually be the case but we should never underestimate the willingness of the zombie voters to go along. They are many.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
