Years of Climate Action Demolished in Days: A Timeline

Has Trump done a lot to bring sanity back regarding public policy in Climate Matters? Undoubtedly yes. Can this be reversed just as fast by the next president on the other side of the Rubicon? Of course. Trump has the vast majority of his 4 years still to go, but those things end faster than we all would like, so the risk for the madness to resume is more than real. I am no fan of Executive Action on very important matters. We need statutes, but not even those are safe. In the end, nothing is. But it would be very hard to take down a constitutional amendment that forbids lawmakers from enacting any regulation that is not based on very solid scientific proof. There must be a definition of what level of proof should be required, but models and conjectures don’t qualify. To the legally minded, for draft proposals.
