The last decade or so was a roller coaster for me and I am sure for many others. My faith in institutions or professions has never been very strong but there was something. A splinter in my mind that made me want to respect the opinions of some. Science certainly fell into this category. But I should have known that everyone is a human first and everything human can and will be corrupted. Whenever any profession or institution tries to place itself above the fray or create an impression of non-bias and strict adherence to facts we should be suspicious. When they need to say it, it probably is a con.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
