A Superfund for climate change? States consider a new way to make Big Oil pay

It is time for Big Oil to make some hard choices. I know that some big oil companies are in the process of exiting California as they get no love but rather a lot of hate there. But even when their businesses leave, their products still come in. Big Oil should completely disengage from those states and countries where they get no love. It would be best if no hydrocarbons would enter any of those territories anymore. People and businesses there should procure their energy through wind and solar or the black market for the respective price. Sometimes one has to feel the effects of one’s own professed wishes.

Vermont joins three northeastern states in trying to make the fossil fuel industry pay for the damages wrought by climate change.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
