I do not understand how a continental country like the US which is also the biggest economy on Earth needs anything made in another country? Except for avoiding taxes and regulations of course. If you want to be free to waste the environment – you go abroad. If you want to have cheap slave labor that has not rights – you go abroad. I get it. But that is an unhealthy competition. Those competing countries don’t compete on excellence. They compete on messing up their people and the planet. A Border Adjustment Tax would take care of that.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
