Germany won’t be happy. Why do you ask? Thats a Belgian power plant so Germany should be happy to be rid of one more reviled nuke. And superficially they will be. But behind the curtain, Germans balance their ramshackle grid with power from abroad and the Belgian nuke played a rather important role in this. It allowed the Germans to pretend that wind and solar did not mess with their electricity.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
