Biden Plan Targets Fossil Fuel Subsidies Worth $35B

If only Biden targeted real subsidies. There are some for coal and I don’t mind anyone taking them out but what he does here on hydrocarbon companies is denying normal fiscal tools every single company in the country has on its disposal from just a subset of companies. Thats highly discriminatory and I ask myself if that would stand in court. Also, let’s use the correct terms here. Those are not subsidies but normal tax laws. If he looks for true subsidies he will plenty in the wind, solar, hydrogen, and EV businesses.

President Joe Biden's plan to eliminate subsidies claimed by oil and gas companies and raise levies on corporate polluters would increase government receipts by $35 billion over the coming decade.
