Nuclear Energy! Sure, great choice. I love it. More nuclear would solve quite a lot of issues we have today. And it can be done. But how fast? Let’s face it. If your nuclear power plant is not under construction now, if you are not moving soil right now, there is no way on Earth your plant will come online a single day before 2030. Most likely a lot later. This is a solution but it’s a very long-term solution. It’s not going to help us with the wind and solar induced problems right now. Those will get a lot worse over the next couple of years. Things have gotten urgent. Words won’t help. We will need to enjoy the consequences of being idiots for quite a while.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
