Chevron donates historic Union Oil Company headquarters to City of Santa Paula

Looks to me like Chevron wants out of California. Their headquarters is still in San Ramon close to San Francisco but much of their operations run out of Houston Texas. And it’s no surprise considering how oil & gas companies are being treated in California. The state makes it absolutely impossible for oil companies to operate there and they drop their acreage in the state for cheap. California was a big oil producer and today, they import oil from Russia. As if oil production in Russia would be cleaner and more sustainable than operations in the continental US. Californians should have oil & gas almost for free and instead their price at the pump tops out. Paradise can be killed – we know that now.

Included in the donation are the historic headquarters building, a “Rig Building,” an adjacent parking lot, select oil industry memorabilia, and a substantial $2 million grant. The grant is intended to assist the City in…
