Cleaner U.S. Oil & Gas Sector Catalyzes a Cleaner Industry Worldwide

When I started working for OMV decades ago I learned the story of our Sudan engagement. OMV was engaged in Sudanese upstream and faced quite some activist opposition for it. After a lot of pain, OMV dropped Sudan and pulled out being replaced by Chinese operators that had no regard for the land or the people. OMV (and some other western companies) brought a measure of quality to those people’s lives. China was not even interested in that. Comparing western nations’ oil sector and that of many other countries is ridiculous.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
