Conflict of Energy Forecasts: Saudi Aramco vs. International Energy Agency

So we are between a rock and a hard place. It is renewables and the death of conventional energy or business as usual with Asia leading the charge. Allow me to throw in some perspective. Asia is no monolith and the big juggernaut that is China, is badly damaged. There is almost universal acceptance that China might never catch up with the US. If China goes into the mother of all economic meltdowns as many predict, the Asian continent won’t consume a lot of additional energy. It might reduce consumption. North America will become a beacon of energy self-sufficiency and export. Renewables will die with a whimper and Europe will go into 50 years of decline. I don’t like it but that’s what we seem to have.
