COP27 Greenwishing: Progressive Discontent

Oh, you want to know why our kids became real pests. Unrealistic, entitled, pampered little brats that could not bother to do one iota of useful work and much rather try to get anything they want by throwing tantrums. All small kids do that. But we have given education of our children to schools and teachers and other clubs and institutions. We wanted our freedom and as little work as possible and during the five minutes per day when we saw our kids, we wanted them happy so we showered them with gifts and whatnot. Being a parent does not mean being the most popular person in your kid’s life. It means shaping them when they mess up – or have pampered pests later.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
