What did anyone think about why wind and solar enthusiasts are so opposed to tariffs on China? Through its total disregard for labor and environmental protections, they produce artificially cheap stuff that then lowers the price for wind and solar where it gets installed. Never mind that in spite of the lower price tag, both still need copious direct and indirect subsidies for making any money at all. And even with all the subsidies, the subterfuge does not hold up. So just imagine what happens if one of the elements of a chain of scams fails because of tariffs. China supports the climate scare as long as it turns a buck for them. As soon as thats gone, support will shrivel. Activists won’t like that.
