Environmental knowledge is inversely associated with climate change anxiety

The older I am, the more I have the impression that it’s especially academics that have the worst education. They learn a lot of activist mumbo jumbo at their universities but it seems to me that common sense and practical thinking are not high on the agenda. Don’t get me wrong – I am an academic myself and pretty proud of being the first in my family to achieve a Master’s degree. But while social causes were a thing in my time at university, they were a fringe phenomenon. Today they make up all university life. The higher your degree, the less you know. That seems to be the mantra today. I am sorry to see that happening. We may have to rip out academia root and stem and start over.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
