EU agrees carbon border tariffs

The concept of a Border Adjustment Tax would be the right tool to right trade imbalances in the international market. A country that wastes its own environment to a point where some regions become almost uninhabitable, that treats its own population no better than slaves, and uses labor in concentration camps for export goods should have such a tax slapped onto all of its goods that are imported into the developed world. This country would be free to prove to the world that whatever gave them the bad tax rate has been fixed. Single companies should be free to do that. It’s not perfect but do we want to feed unfair competitors to our own industries forever?

Carbon border adjustment mechanism will begin test period in 2023 and phase in slowly over course of the decade

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
