Germany to Put G-7 Coal Phaseout Push on Hold

We have seen massive fires and explosions all over Russia hitting critical infrastructure. It likely is the work of Ukrainian saboteurs. Just imagine those same people manage to hit the compressor station of North Stream close to St. Petersburg. Sanctions or not restoring gas flows will take a long while. And Germany is in the worst of all positions to deal with this. Talking about LNG terminals won’t bring a solution. So Germans will do what they can do, fall back on ever more coal. Expect a new coal age to come about in Germany for a little longer than just months.
