We have become so used to fake figures in everything that we cannot even see the truth when it stares us in the face. It’s not very hard to understand that when energy is being stored there is a loss of energy. There is no perfect storage. Hydrocarbons are stored energy in their most basic form. Dump diesel in a barrel and it sits there, no further measures are needed. Even easier to heap up coal. It’s stored energy. It’s a bit harder with gas as you need underground storage or liquefaction but electricity is total madness as it always needs to be transformed back and forth every time it’s put into storage and taken out. That should be common sense. It is not.
