How is this going to continue? Anyone doing a project in such a part of the world would have to maintain a private army to keep those groups at bay. If it’s only money they want, that can be dealt with. But the Islamic State wants terror for terror’s sake. They often don’t care about the money side but want maximum press exposure and for that, you need the most extreme kind of action as viewers won’t take anything considered normal seriously anymore. All those costs, all the risks, and all those problems don’t exist in the Lower 48 which is why shale still has a great rap to it.
