Oh, the hard issue of biomass. I like bio energy in principle but there simply is not nearly enough biomass available to run a major economy on it. We should really use the biomaterials we leave behind from our farming and livestock-rearing activities as they are as natural as a space station but volumes won’t make a huge dent in the equation. The produced energy and other commodities are best used locally in circular loops as much as possible to avoid the transport of a lot of matter over distances. Cutting down trees for renewable energy is a travesty and it should end right now.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
