Milford Haven LNG: Liquefied natural gas terminal expansion plan

It makes a lot more sense to expand an existing terminal if the market behind it can take the volumes rather than building new terminals altogether. The longest lead item and also one of the most expensive are the tanks. If you manage to get LNG faster in and out, you have expanded the capacity of the terminal without the need for new physical tanks. This has limits of course but especially the big terminals should have quite some spare in the quiver. It’s pretty cheap and it’s first of all very fast. Germany has no onshore terminal yet but it could help terminals in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Poland expand.
