Most of North America at Risk of Energy Shortfalls This Summer

This headline alone is stunning and breathtaking. Just a few years ago energy was destined to be forever cheap due to the blessings of the shale revolution and now the heavy hand of the administration succeeded in bringing the US close to energy calamity. In Europe, we should not be surprised by our own – self-inflicted – situation. We have never worked on realistic alternatives or diversification of energy. The war in Ukraine just made our own overexposure to Russia painfully apparent. For decades, any alternative was frowned upon. But I have a feeling the US will come back from the brink very fast.

Two thirds of North America is at risk of energy shortfalls this summer, NERC has revealed.
