NASA’s SOFIA Discovers Water on Sunlit Surface of Moon

We see the Moon every day above our heads. We have been there, we brought rocks back from the Moon. For decades we have assumed to know about the Moon – at least the basics. Turns out we don’t. Turns out that the Moon holds some very fundamental surprises for us and that some things we had learned in school as little children were plain wrong. Remember the surprises about Pluto in 2015? O when we found methane on Mars? we will have to rethink some of the things we hold dearest. One of them is the theory of how hydrocarbons come to exist. Because our current theories cannot nearly explain the volumes of methane the planet releases naturally every day. But some processes such as serpentinization do. But then, oil and gas are no fossil fuels anymore. Are we ready to face the facts?
