Many do not really understand. they think that Russia can send its gas any way they want. From Europe to Asia and vice versa. Those who still think so should take a map of Eurasia, look at the distances in Russia and especially in Siberia, and ask some really hard questions. One needs a double redundant pipüeline system to be able to switch at will. that’s a cost pain in the behind for much shorter distances. But in Siberias, that’s an absolute nightmare. Gas for China comes from Eastern Siberia – this gas will never hit Europe. Gas for Europe comes from Western Siberia – this gas will never hit China.
