The Guardian has no qualms with having a couple of millions jobless to finance some windmills and glizzy surfaces. COVID has just destroyed whatever vaporous underpinning there was for any white elephants. Let’s be honest – the economic reckoning for the not yet dealt with the mess from 2008 was still to come and we have made it worse with the constant money printing. That said, it’s not surprising. Who expects a sine from politicians? BUT – eventually, everything breaks. And now the jug is up – COVID was peak BS energy projects.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
