Silence of the Grid Experts

And they know exactly why they are silent. It’s bad for your career to speak out against the green industrial complex and might even cost you your job. Most European grids have been built in the past when utilities were still monopolies and state-owned. Engineers at the time knew that there would be consumption-generated events that would bring the grid into uncertain territory so they overbuilt it. They wanted to make sure that the lights stay on even if things go a bit haywire. This overcapacity was our safety but renewable developers soaked it up as freebies. Now our safety is gone and the developers got used to free stuff. They don’t like the prospect of paying for the crap they do of course.
