China and a few other countries like it essentially produce stuff cheaper than we do by completely disregarding any regulation that has ever been created to protect the environment as well as by paying its workers a pittance. True, much of the cost of operating in a developed country comes from regulation that is designed to milk the economy and not to protect or keep things fair but this unfair cost to society exists in countries like China even more. It’s a racket that exists everywhere. So this is not the differentiator. China is essentially a huge Ponzi scheme. For more than a decade people got worked up on BRICS countries as if they worked with magic wands. They will need them soon but people in the west will only understand that when ruins smolder.
