The EU-China investment agreement is a disaster for the West

Giving China any leeway today is almost criminal. At the latest since COVID plagues the world, it must be clear to anyone that China will do anything bad under the Sun to further their interests. They call themselves the Middle Kingdom, which for them is the navel of the world. everything not Chinese is nothing but an export colony or a resource base to them. They don’t care about agreements. They will force those they sign up with to stick to their side of the bargain and will never even consider fulfilling themselves. It’s all empty promises. So no matter if we have the empty, senseless agreement of Mrs. van der Leyen or a fleshier agreement of Mr. Junkers, China is always going to behave the same way. Better not to have anything and be free from coercion.
