The hidden price of Iceland’s green energy

The current renewable craze has one thing in common – its ugly and it leaves lifeless deserts behind. Have you ever seen a drained former hydropower resevoir? They are incredible scars in nature. A windfarm needs flat land where trees should stand. I prefer green hills to those glistening in the sun because of all those panels. Iceland finds out the hard way. We need concentrated energy that suits the 21st century. Going back to what our ancestors did is not the way.

The recent IPCC report has made it clear that we need to change our energy supply from fossils to renewable energy if we want to avoid catastrophic climate change. This transition has to happen now and it has to happen fast.
