The IEA Sees Peak Oil Demand! Yawn

How many times have we seen such projections? And how many times have they hit the mark? You could spend a lot of time compiling all the failed predictions by any such institutions and irrational CEOs that are more politicians than company bosses. Oil demand will eventually go down very very slowly but it’s not the electric vehicle that will be its undoing. Its methane gas as its clean, economical, and technically mature. But don’t hold your breath quite yet. This is a very long shot.

The IEA's suggestion that oil demand has peaked is an echo of history.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
