The oil-price war Russia helped create complicates their Arctic plans

The coming very cold period due to the upcoming Solar minimum won’t help those plans. Developing anything in the Arctic will become a financial hellhole. We have pretty cheap oil now but the period of cheap oil is over.

Oil’s freefall amid a deepening price war and a global pandemic threatens to complicate Russian efforts to turn the Arctic into a major new energy zone.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
