Trust In Science Drops: Good

We all grow up learning that trust is a good thing. Trust allows us to leave lots of stuff to those who know better or do better and concentrate on our own infinitely small piece of the pie. But trust also requires others to be trustworthy and the older I become, the more I think that any organized system of people must by the very nature of its existence become untrustworthy in time. Because all humans have ambition and those who have lots of it will quickly start corrupting the system. Slightly at first, but it adds up until nothing is true anymore. Everybody lies.

I found it hilarious that an article seeking the reason why trust in Science is declining opened with this sentence: As we are approaching the end of the fourth year of the COVID-19 pandemic, which…

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
