Universities Are Dead: Let’s Bury Their Corpses & Begin Anew

When I went to law school in France, I was told a story by one of our older professors. He told us that under President Mitterand it became the official aim of the Republic to have 80% of all people pass the Baccalaureat – or finish High School for those that don’t understand the french system. Now it’s the unofficial target that 80% shall pass Bac+4 which means just short of a Master’s degree. They got there by lowering standards enough. And who needs so many graduates anyhow?
