Why China just can’t seem to quit coal

Might it be that China has a strained relationship with the truth? We don’t want to put outright lying on China’s back – would we? I would endeavor to assume that China never was serious about reducing coal. But China produces an awful lot of green energy stuff – mainly for export to countries that are willing to wreck their economies overpaying for worthless renewable gear. And once production lines have been overbuilt (we know China can do that) and international markets don’t swallow your wares anymore, it’s either buying it for the domestic market or some politically very well-connected projects going bust. Plus some millions of jobless.
