Why U.S. Shale Gas Could Emerge From the Pandemic Stronger Than Ever

As I said many times before, shale is fast. It reacts to changes in the market much faster than anyone else so when things turn ugly, they appear to be suffering more than anyone else. In reality, we see their pain while the pain of the others is hidden from sight under layers of administration and obfuscation. They don’t even know their own pain until it kills them most times. When non-shale players cut back, they are late in the game reducing their own market position. When the market comes back, they are slow to respond to leaving the best pieces to shale. How long until they go into existential pain?
