YPF expects FID on first phase of Argentina LNG project in 2025

That’s a very large LNG project and I seriously wish them luck. They will need it as those projects are not easy to put together and considering Argentina’s troubled past, financing it won’t be a breeze. Also, you will need buyers willing and able to sign themselves up for a long-term deal which means binding yourself with one leg to Argentina and its fortunes. The European market is about 16 shipping days away which is pretty far with not much in the way that allows some dropping of cargos or optimization. Argentina should try to reform its economy and use the gas to build manufacturing.
