2024 Will be Another Rollercoaster Ride for Energy

Only one more reason to bring it home where it’s still safest. That’s pretty much the case for the US which does not need a lot of input from the outside world anymore. Yes, a sudden stop in oil trading would force fast conversions of some refineries which would produce very short-term pain but this would be over fast. Europe is in a much worse place but it would not have to be. There are solutions for every country, sometimes more coal, sometimes more hydropower, and in some cases shale. Or even nuclear – the fact is we will have to develop more homegrown as imports are not only expensive but also expose us to the chaos that’s beckoning around us.
