Africa Is Plunging Into a Climate Nightmare While the World Watches

Economic misery in some African countries stems far more from bad policy, corruption, horrible infrastructure, and a sometimes atrociously misconstrued education system. Many of the street vendors in Nigeria’s capital Lagos are graduates who can’t seem to get a decent job and make ends meet this way. The youth in many North African countries have no prospects as their rigid societal structures and politics bar them from anything that’s more exciting than watching paint dry. Africa has myriads of problems but Climate Change is not one of them. But I understand that anyone is looking for a fault outside rather than inside. Pointing at the true problems in an African country might land you in trouble. Pointing at Climate Change might endear you with leaders.
