How Did University Students Become So Stupid?

When I was young, we had to work while going to university. I had to as nobody paid for my life and I had bills that did not take delays too kindly. Exposure to real life gives you a sense of reality. With age, we start to become cranky and sometimes a bit irrate but most of us start to wise up a bit. That said, this happens only if you get exposed more and more to the reality of life. But the academic world is as removed from real life as one can be. It’s a sheltered environment of discussion groups, focus groups, student bodies, and artificial achievement judged by those who have spent their entire life in it – the teaching corps. No wonder things go out of kilter.
