Hyping Maximum Daily Temperatures

How do you measure the temperature of the day? What time of day do you take it? Let’s say you want the temperature of your room. Would you take it from close to the ceiling, the floor, or the middle? Because you will get different readings if your thermometer is sensitive enough. What time of the day counts? Would you have to correct temperature for some factors such as heat sources nearby and how would you do that? How do you discount the heat island effect? The more confusion there is about the temperature data we get, the more someone can alter them to suit whatever objective.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
