‘Paper projects’ hold back green hydrogen sector

Paper projects are an issue in any industry. Does anyone remember before the advent of shale gas? North America was to be the wet dream of any LNG developer. It was supposed to become the biggest gas importer on the planet in a few years only and everyone worth his two buttocks threw an LNG import project into the ring. At some point in time, there were so many that the coastlines were hard to see on the map. Needless to say that a low single-digit number of them ever saw the light of day. Why would that be different in hydrogen? It’s actually even worse because there is one big difference. LNG developers hoped for a bull market. Hydrogen developers expect taxpayers to cough up the cash.
